Kirin Tor does not provide much at all for a tank, but at exalted they do hand out epic gauntlets. This will likely be your last reputation to grab. The Requiem Lant actually provides several decent items for starting out. The cloak will be good until you can grab something from a badge vendor or raid, and the plate items are of decent quality starting out.
