They bring more specific changes
Do you know why this is such a big deal? You can get the answer if you look at Blizzard holding the tournament on a patch other than the one currently on live servers. If a tournament can occur on a separate patch, Mortal gold is very possible they bring more specific changes that can only good for tournaments.
