Use the terms interchangeably
Emblems are a currency system introduced in Wrath of the Lich King, awarded for defeating bosses in heroic instances and raids. Click over to the link in the previous sentence for a look at emblems past and present, including where they come from, which are still in use and which can be converted or downgraded into other forms. By contrast, Megaten Gold is outdated currency from The Burning Crusade content or reputation tokens from Delran daily quests and Argent Tournament vendors. Older players tend to use the terms emblems and badges interchangeably; rest assured that it is emblems you want.
